Hoof Lifting

Join us live, as we take you through the process of teaching hoof lifting positively. We (Hannah and Rachel) will be there to show you all the steps and techniques to train this positively, calmly, gently, with no force. This is perfect for young horses, scared, rescued or feral horses, horses who kick, lean or stamp, or any horse who needs to learn this behaviour for everyday handling and hoof care. Suitable for all equines - horses, foals, mules and donkeys all feature.

Here's what we'll cover:

• Starting off with touch consent and acceptance, especially on the legs

• Techniques for teaching the equine to lift their front feet

• Techniques for lifting the hind legs, including understanding balance and weight shifts

• Building duration so they can hold their feet up for cleaning and care

• Preparation for other people handling their feet, including farriers and vets

• Case studies with foals, wild mustangs, youngsters, equines who kick and ones who can't be touched but desperately need their feet trimming.

We will show plenty of videos of the training process. We will also have time for questions for your specific horse and situation.

Come and join us and learn how to make hoof care something easy and stress-free for both you and your horse. In fact, you'll see how one donkey who hadn't had his feet trimmed in years because no-one could touch him, learn to lift his feet this way, and then it became is most favourite thing to do. The real power of training this way!
